Engine Cover. Repair procedures

Removal and Installation
1.
Remove the engine cover (A).

  
•
Remove the engine cover on room temperature.
•
Do not disengage both front and rear mounting point at the same time.
2.
Install in the reverse order of removal.

Engine Room Under Cover. Repair procedures

Removal and Installation
  
•
Be careful not to damage the parts located under the vehicle (floor under cover, fuel filter, fuel tank and canister) when raising the vehicle using the lift.
(Refer to General Information - "Lift and Support Points")
Front Under Cover
1.
Remove the engine room under cover (A).
Tightening torque
Bolts : 7.8 - 11.8 Nm (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb-ft)

2.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Rear Under Cover
1.
Remove the engine room rear under cover (A).
Tightening torque
3.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.4 - 0.6 kgf.m, 2.9 - 4.3 lb-ft)

2.
Install in the reverse order of removal.

Removal and Installation
  
•
Be careful not to damage the parts located under the vehicle (floor under cover, fuel filter, fuel tank and canister) when raising the vehicle using the lift.

Roll Road Bracket
1.
Remove the engine room under cover.
(Refer to Engine And Transaxle Assembly - "Engine Room Under Cover")
2.
Remove the roll rod bracket (A).
Tightening torque
Bolt (B) :
107.9 - 127.5 N.m (11.0 - 13.0 kgf.m, 79.6 - 94.0 lb-ft)
Bolts (C) :
49.0 - 63.7 N.m (5.0 - 6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 - 47.0 lb-ft)

3.
Remove the roll rod mounting support bracket (A).
Tightening torque :
49.0 - 68.6 N.m (5.0 - 7.0 kgf.m, 36.2 - 50.6 lb-ft)

Engine Mounting Bracket
1.
Remove the engine room under cover.
(Refer to Engine and transaxle Assembly - "Engine Room Under Cover")
2.
Remove the engine cover.
(Refer to Engine and transaxle Assembly - "Engine Cover")
3.
Install the jack to the edge of oil pan to support the engine.
  
•
Insert the rubber block between jack and oil pan.
4.
Remove the engine mounting support bracket (A).
Tightening torque
Bolt, Nuts (C) : 63.7 - 83.4 N.m (6.5 - 8.5 kgf.m, 47.0 - 61.5lb-ft)

5.
Remove the reservoir tank.
(Refer to Cooling System - "Reservoir Tank")
6.
Remove the engine mounting bracket (A).
Tightening torque :
63.7 - 83.4 N.m (6.5 - 8.5 kgf.m, 47.0 - 61.5 lb-ft)

7.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Transaxle Mounting Bracket
1.
Remove the engine room under cover.
(Refer to Engine And Transaxle Assembly - "Engine Room Under Cover")
2.
Remove the air duct.
(Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "Air Cleaner")
3.
Remove the air cleaner assembly.
(Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "Air Cleaner")
4.
Remove the battery and tray.
(Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery")
5.
Install the jack to the edge of transaxle.
  
•
Insert the rubber block between jack and transaxle.
6.
Remove the transaxle mounting bolts (A).
Tightening torque :
107.9 - 127.5 N.m (11.0 - 13.0 kgf.m, 79.6 - 94.0 lb-ft)

7.
Remove the transaxle mounting bracket (A).
Tightening torque :
63.7 - 83.4 N.m (6.5 - 8.5 kgf.m, 47.0 - 61.5 lb-ft)

8.
Install in the reverse order of removal.

Engine And Transaxle Assembly. Repair procedures

Removal
  
•
Be careful not to damage the parts located under the vehicle (floor under cover, fuel filter, fuel tank and canister) when raising the vehicle using the lift.
(Refer to General Information - "Lift and Support Points")
  
•
Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surfaces.
•
To avoid damage, unplug the wiring connectors carefully while holding the connector portion.
  
•
Mark all wiring and hoses to avoid misconnection.
•
For release the fuel system pressure before remove the engine assembly, start the engine without fuel pump relay. And then turn off the ignition switch after engine stops.
1.
Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
2.
Remove the engine cover.
(Refer to Engine And Transaxle Assembly - "Engine Cover")
3.
Remove the air duct and air cleaner assembly.
(Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "Air Cleaner")
4.
Remove the battery and battery tray.
(Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery")
5.
Remove the engine room under corver.
(Refer to Engine And Transaxle Assembly - "Engine Room Under Cover")
6.
Loosen the drain plug and drain the coolant.
(Refer to Cooling System - "Coolant")
7.
Recover the refrigerant and then remove the high pressure pipe and low pressure pipe.
(Refer to Heateng, Ventilation, Air conditioning - "Compressor")
8.
Disconnect the fuse box connectors (A) and ground cable (B).
Tightening torque :
B : 10.8 - 13.7 N.m (1.1 - 1.4 kgf.m, 8.0 - 10.1 lb-ft)

9.
Disconnect the (+) wiring cable (A).
Tightening torque :
7.8 - 10.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.1 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.0 lb-ft)

10.
Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose (A).

11.
Disconnect the fuel hose (A) and the purge control solenoid valve (PCSV) hose (B).

12.
Disconnect the heater hoses (A).

13.
Disconnect the radiator upper hose (A).

14.
Disconnect the raditor lower hose (A).

15.
Remove the front muffler.
(Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "Muffler")
16.
Remove the roll rod bracket (A).
Tightening torque
Bolt (B) :
107.9 - 127.5 N.m (11.0 - 13.0 kgf.m, 79.6 - 94.0 lb-ft)
Bolt (C) :
49.0 - 63.7 N.m (5.0 - 6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 - 47.0 lb-ft)

17.
Remove the roll rod support bracket (A).
Tightening torque :
49.0 - 68.6 N.m (5.0 - 7.0 kgf.m, 36.2 - 50.6 lb-ft)

18.
Remove the sub frame assembly.
(Refer to Suspension System - "Sub Frame")
19.
Support the engine and transaxle assembly with a floor jack.
20.
Remove the steering U-joint mounting bolts.
(Refer to Steering System - "Steering Column and Shaft")
21.
Remove the engine ground cable (A).
Tightening torque :
10.8 - 13.7 N.m (1.1 - 1.4 kgf.m, 8.0 - 10.1 lb-ft)

22.
Disconnect the ground cable (A).
Tightening torque :
10.8 - 13.7 N.m (1.1 - 1.4 kgf.m, 8.0 - 10.1 lb-ft)

23.
Disconnect the reservoir tank water hose (A).

24.
Disconnect the ATF cooler hoses (A).

25.
Remove the engine mounting support bracket (A).
Tightening torque :
Nut (B) : 88.3 - 107.9 N.m (9.0 - 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 - 79.6 lb-ft)
Bolt, Nuts (C) : 63.7 - 83.4 N.m (6.5 - 8.5 kgf.m, 47.0 - 61.5 lb-ft)

26.
Remove the transaxle mounting bracket through bolt (A).
Tightening torque :
107.9 - 127.5 N.m (11.0 - 13.0 kgf.m, 79.6 - 94.0 lb-ft)

27.
Remove the engine and transaxle assembly by lifting vehicle.
  
•
When remove the engine and transaxle assembly, be careful not to damage any surrounding parts or body components.
28.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
  
•
Refill a radiator and a reservoir tank with engine coolant.
(Refer to Cooling System - "Coolant")
•
Check the engine oil level.
If necessary, refill engine with engine oil
•
Check the transaxle oil level.
If necessary, refill a transaxle with fluid.
•
Charging the refrigerant gas.
•
Inspect for fuel leakage.
